Jennifer M. Williams, Esquire
Jennifer M. Williams, Esquire has over 16 years of experience as a litigator in Virginia. Her practice includes handling every type of family law matter, including custody, support, separation, protective orders, contested and uncontested divorces. In addition, she handles every type of adult and juvenile criminal matter, including traffic, DUI, assaults, drug and firearm related offenses. Although Ms. Williams is a seasoned litigator, she is a proponent of the use of alternate dispute resolution techniques whenever possible to arrive at the best solutions for her clients.
Ms. Williams earned her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law, after earning her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh where she was a track and field scholar-athlete. (Go Pitt!)
After graduating from law school, Ms. Williams sought to shape the legal minds of the next generation as a pre-law adjunct professor of legal research and writing and constitutional law at Hampton University. Thereafter, as public servant, she honed her litigation skills as a prosecutor in the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney, City of Norfolk and the Newport News Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney as a lead prosecutor in bench and jury trials. Ms. Williams then continued to fine-tune her experience in private practice as she focused on criminal defense and family law.
Ms. Williams believes in the importance of being involved in the community. She's committed to service as an active member of her sorority, where she is an advocate for social justice. In addition, she's participated in judging and conducting mock trials, mentoring students, and facilitating and participating in panel discussions regarding the practice of law for high school and law students. Most recently, she's volunteered as a race marshal in the 14th Annual Heroes and Villains 5K and Fun Run which benefited the Fairfax Law Foundation.
Ms. Williams is the president-elect of the Old Dominion Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association, and a member of the Fairfax Bar Association. Previously, she has been a past president of the South Hampton Roads Bar Association, a member of the Greater Peninsula Women's Bar Association, the Northern Virginia Black Attorneys Association, and the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
Although Ms. Williams has practiced law for a number of years, she believes in the importance of continuous learning to better serve her clients and the community at large.
As the principal attorney at Williams Law, PLC, Ms. Williams brings integrity, compassion, dedication, teamwork, and zealous representation to all of her clients.
